Look your best
One aspect of the wedding photography industry that most of the new wedding photographers out there tend to miss out on a lot is the importance of showing up at the wedding looking their best and making sure that they are dressed appropriately at all times. This is something that you should always aim for at the end of the day. Sadly enough though, there aren’t a lot of articles as well as sources out there that aim to educate a wedding photographer regarding the things that he should try to avoid committing at all times for as far as dress codes are concerned. Sometimes, all you need is a blatant reminder about the things that are not deemed as OK or about the things that you should avoid altogether when it all comes down to it.
Lay off street wear
The first thing that you need to keep in mind if you are a wedding photographer who is currently looking for something to wear to the wedding that he is about to shoot is that you should lay off of the street wear as much as possible. It doesn’t matter how expensive those Nike’s look or how cool you may turn out to be once you give yourself a full assessment in the mirror. Street wear is never going to happen for you as a wedding photographer. You cannot show disrespect to a couple who hired you, paid good money for your services, believed in what you can do, and entrusted you with the most important day in their lives by showing up as if you are just about to take a quick stroll to the mall or to the supermarket.
Your clients deserve something so much more than that.
If you show up in your street wear, you give off the notion that you don’t really care too much about coming in looking great and looking prim and proper during the wedding. That just isn’t the kind of vibe that you should be giving out to people when it all comes down to it. You are at someone’s wedding. The best thing that you can do is to at least look the part by exerting some effort in the articles that you end up bringing together into the outfit that you end up wearing when it all comes down to it. You can wear jeans for as long as there’s nothing baggy or tattered about it. You can pair it up with a sleek looking shirt or polo, something that needs to be buttoned up. Absolutely no wearing of shorts, whether you’re a male or a female. If you can lay off of the baseball caps, then it would be even batter
Lay off wearing prints
Another thing that you should try to lay off of as much as possible is the aspect of wearing prints. Depending on the kind of prints you are wearing, they can easily look tacky and cheap and end up being a little too loud to wear during a wedding. Stick to the plain colors and try to go for muted colors as much as possible.
